DDWA provides monthly arts programs for all ages. Recent programs have included instruction on acrylic painting (Canvas & Cupcakes), pottery painting, cake decorating, digital photography, choir and DDWA’s acclaimed annual summer theater camp.
We offer the opportunity for people with special needs to come to only those classes that interest them, or come to them all! We have enjoyed growth among our repeat painters, photographers, and actors in terms of their talents, their social bonding and their ability to relate to others.
DDWA also offers trips for families or individuals to travel with DDWA to different cities and experience what the arts have to offer in those locales. We want to give them an understanding of what happens “behind the scenes” by visiting film and production studios, museums, recording studios, radio stations, and much more. We have taken trips to California, where we met the cast at Disney’s Aladdin production before enjoying the musical, toured the largest radio station in North America, explored the WB backstage lot, examined the Orange County Performing Arts Complex and viewed the Peter Pan play!
Our next trip was last summer to New York City. While in the Big Apple we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, woke up early to see the Today Show Summer Concert Series with Hunter Hayes and went to see Wicked on Broadway where they took DDWA backstage after the performance to meet the cast members, get autographs and take pictures.
We invite you to peek through our photo galleries to see our programming in action.
